One of the largest offshore wind farms in the UK, Barrow is capable of powering some 75,000 homes, and saving around 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, compared with fossil fuels.
Construction began in 2005, and by mid-2006, the 30 Vestas V90 turbines were operating at full capacity. To support the construction phase, we supplied a purpose-built catamaran, "XPLORER", together with an 8m Delta water-jet RIB, and both vessels continue to provide logistical support.
