With thirty Vestas 2MW turbines, each standing over 220ft high to the rotor hub, Scroby Sands was commissioned in 2004, and now provides enough clean power for some 30,000 homes.
The main service vessel is the "Celtic Warrior", operated by North Sea Logistics. Specially designed for service and maintenance operations in the shallow waters that cover Scroby Sands, she draws only 0.80m, and her twin diesels power a water-jet propulsion system rather than conventional screws. She is supported by a second NSL vessel, the 8m Delta RIB, whimsically known as "Scroby Doo".
