That's why everyone at North Sea Logistics is particularly pleased to have been awarded a second 5-year contract to provide support and transfer services at the North Hoyle wind farm.
At the time of construction, North Hoyle, situated 7km off the coast of North Wales, was the biggest offshore wind farm in the UK. NSL provided three vessels during thee construction phase, and continued to provide service and support over the next five years, with a purpose-built shallow-draft vessel, "Celtic Wind", as well as an 8m water-jet RIB. To date, "Celtic Wind" has carried out well over 15,000 incident-free personnel transfers to the 30 turbines at North Hoyle.
The new 5-year contract, awarded after competitive tendering, will see the introduction of the latest, state-of-the-art craft, and both NSL and Vestas, the wind-farm operator, are confident that the outstanding performance of the past five years will be maintained or even exceeded. |
